The next step is to book a session and see if counselling is for you. Sessions are weekly, are 50 minutes long and are spent mostly talking about whatever emerges during the session. The initial session is spent discussing your goals for the sessions overall, and exploring your life journey so far. Broadly, we’ll look at your past, your perceived future and where you are in the present.
We’ll then discuss whether to continue and, if we decide to continue, whether an open-ended arrangement would be suitable, or if a specific number of sessions (6, 12 or 20) would be preferable.
